The Travel Grant is designed to assist those in need with travel expenses to the Annual Meeting. The maximum award is $600, with a total of $6,000 available each year through the Association (multiple travel grants may be awarded in a single year). These grants can be applied towards any costs associated with attending and presenting at the annual meeting (the meeting registration fee will be waived for awardees). Travel grants are awarded on a competitive basis for individuals who would otherwise be financially unable to attend the annual meeting. Preference may be given to students and rural residents, although anyone who can demonstrate need is welcome to submit a scholarship application. Applicants must be current members of the Association or be sponsored by a current member. If sponsored, the applicant must provide a short letter of support from their sponsor, who may also submit applications on behalf of the applicants. Additionally, the applicant must be an author or collaborator on a paper or poster being presented, or a participant in a group format symposium. Applications for travel grants are due by December 15th to allow for review and notification of winners with enough time to plan for travel prior to the conference in early spring.
