Awards and Scholarships

Through its awards and scholarships program, the Alaska Anthropological Association seeks to recognize outstanding work by its members, to support professional development, and to encourage the academic excellence of students.  Recipients are announced at the awards banquet and business meeting at the Association’s Annual Conference in the spring.  Note that awards are not made every year and are dependent on the number and quality of submissions. Only Members can access the Award Categories, and all awardees must be members in good standing. 

Questions, completed applications, and supporting materials may be submitted online using the link to a Google Form on each award page or by email attachment to alaskaanthroaward.scholarship@gmail.com. For more information see each award below.

We rely on the generosity of our supporters to fund our advocacy and outreach efforts. Your donation will help us continue to with our mission of providing awards and scholarships.

Alaska Residents can deduct annual donations directly from the PFD.  Pick-Click-Give funds donated to the Alaska Anthropological Association will be used for scholarships. These awards help students cover expenses with furthering their education or attending the annual conference.
